Job Vacancy Description

This field is a mandatory requirement for any vacancy going live. There is no character limit on it, and is copy and paste compatible. It is important to note, however, that tables are not supported and therefore if pasted into this field the vacancy will paste with poor formatting.

Job Posting Best Practice dictates:

  1. The opening paragraph is short, catchy and informative as this is the first element the jobseeker will read after the job title. Additionally, this is also the information that will display on the search results page of the job search.
  2. Be clear and concise. Avoid buzz words, acronyms or technical jargon despite how tempting this can be. (Some recruiters use this as a screening tool, however it is unnecessary to do and creates a lower quality ad if done so)
  3. Format the vacancy, using the simple formatting tools included in the job creation form. By bolding, bulleting or numbering, it is easy to make important information stand out for easy reading.
  4. Lastly, do not copy and paste job descriptions!

Candidate Requirements

The Candidate Requirements field is not mandatory. This field is copy and paste compatible however users should not paste tables into this field as once again it will throw off the formatting and display poorly to the jobseeker.

Please note that once the vacancy is published, the vacancy is separated into the two fields using subheadings, namely Vacancy Details and Candidate Requirements and is done so to improve readability for the jobseeker. Simple formatting tools are available in this field for the same reason.

This field is the appropriate place for recruiters to mention soft skills as well as hard skills and experience relating to the position.
List the minimum requirements for the job such as education, computer skills, language ability, years of experience in a specific field and so on. Moreover give an indication of the characteristics you are looking for from the ideal candidate.

Be sure that the requirements of the candidate for the position are realistic and match the job level and offered remuneration, and communicated clearly to improve quality candidate matching.

Required Skills

Once again, this is not a mandatory requirement for posting a vacancy however does allow skills and the number of years’ experience the candidate should have for the position to be included in the vacancy view.
On publishing the vacancy, the skills that are entered here are displayed in such a way that they stand out and are easier to read for jobseekers.
